BEAUTY

Things Mom needs help with because she's clueless!

After Mike left last night, when he so kindly tried to fix the camera on the Mac, I started thinking about Dieter. I hadn't heard from him in a while and was wondering what he was doing. Dieter, or Orangeguru, whose website is still being mourned by his many fans, was the person who first introduced me to YouTube. Which, by the way, may not have been a good thing, since I'm now addicted.

Before finally giving up for the night, I checked for new e-mail to this address. Lo and behold ... there was an e-mail from Dieter titled Beauty with a link to this.

I was working on the PC ... because on the Mac, the prompt buttons which should allow one link to another site, make the words bold, italic or underlined are non-existant. I tried to link to the video, I could hear the sound, but could see no picture. I gave up for the night.

Tonight, I tried again and the same thing happened. It must be because I didn't download some sort of update since I never know what should or shouldn't be downloaded and I am afraid that something will break.

I went over to the Mac to see if I could see it there. But first I had to send myself an e-mail with the link. On the Mac, I could see the video but could hear no sound. That is when I realized I did not know how to turn up the sound on the Mac.

OK. There has got to be a simple help instruction as to what to do. While the average person would be able to figure this out in less that 30 seconds, it took me considerably longer. Eventually i figured it out and realized that for some reason, the sound on the Mac had been muted. That fixed, I was finally able to see (and hear) the very cool video that I hope was linked here under Beauty.

Watch it here:

But of course, since I don't know how to actually do that on the Mac because the prompt buttons are non-existant on the version of Movable Type that appears there, I had to get up and switch to the PC to do that. That done, I went back to the Mac and clicked on my edit button and sent the post to "preview" to see if the link worked. Eureka!

So. I am now back on the PC to finish it up But of course, I will have to go back to the Mac to see if it worked. Wish me luck.

No wonder I can't get anything much done these days. And why this mom needs a full time resident computer expert.

Look at Dove Evolution and consider.
