HERE'S THE NEWS...
Though a lot of the island of Oahu is still dark, power is being restored to the island. Lights are coming on around the Waikiki area and flights are now taking off from the airport.
Friends have brought food (bar-b-que), water, batteries. Don't try to call till power is restored, as there is no way to charge cell phones. They forgot to bring phone chargers for the car.
Didn't realize I was holding my breath until now. Mom is smiling. :-)
